Man jigén is a talk show hosted by Naisatou Konteh and Fatou Nassou on West Coast Radio 2 92.1Fm on Thursdays’ from 1:10Pm to 3:00Pm. Man jigén is a Wolof phrase which means Me Women; it brings to light the impact of society on women and the impact of women to the society.
Man jigén offers help and hope on challenges faced by women. We discuss issues affecting women, interview people on the topic of discussion, invite subject matter specialist to give a better insight on the issue then we open up lines for listeners reactions.
We have discussed on the definition of a woman, in which we interviewed a Sociologist from the UTG, a prominent woman leader, a gender based activist, a renowned broadcaster and some female students. Next was care and training of girls as well as responsibilities of the community towards girls and the responsibilities of girls in the family and community. Cervical cancer was last discussed, where we had a subject matter specialist, a social worker and a foreign medical student from RVTH.
