Abdoulie Touray resigns from the Commonwealth Games Federation
Abdoulie Baks Touray has resigned from his position in the Commonwealth Games Federation and has formally informed the Government of the Gambia who were the first to announce the Gambia’s withdrawal from the 71-nation organisation of mainly ex-British colonies.
In his letter to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr Touray says: “I write to formally inform you that I have formally resigned my position as Vice President for Africa of the Commonwealth Games Federation with immediate effect following the Executive Decision taken by the Government of the Gambia to withdraw its membership of the Commonwealth.”

Kekuta Manneh hat-trick vanquishes Seattle Sounders
Gambian striker Kekuta Manneh scored Vancouver Whitecaps FC’s first-ever hat-trick in Major League Soccer en route to a historic 4-1 victory over Seattle Sounders on Wednesday evening at CenturyLink Field.
Making just his fourth start this season, the 18-year-old Gambian scored twice in the first half and added an insurance marker in the 59th minute, becoming the youngest player in MLS history to score three goals in one match.

Manchester United excited about ‘massive potential’ of new signing Saidy Janko
Manchester United’s UEFA Youth League coach Nicky Butt has talked up the “massive potential” of the club’s forgotten summer signing Saidy Janko.
The 17-year-old Gambian right back joined the club for a reported fee of £700,000 on transfer deadline day, a deal that drifted under the radar as United finalised a £27.5m for Marouane Fellaini.

No need for Carayol to apologise – Tony Mowbray
Mustapha Carayol held his hands up on Tuesday night to apologise for his performance, but manager Tony Mowbray did not see any reason why the winger had to.
Carayol apologised to his teammates before he took to Twitter after Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town to say: “Don’t normally tweet about games but I have to apologise about my individual performance 2night...not acceptable!”
